Text Educated
Permanent Link 14 Mar 2005 5:48 AM
We've educated the poem texts by changing all of the quotation marks and apostrophes to "smart" (or curly) quotes. Also converted are ellipses, dashes, and some other typography. We think the poems look really sharp when the quotes are curled, and proper typography makes the site a better experience for our visitors.
In the coming week we'll be converting the text of all of the articles, news entries (e.g. this very entry) and all other text on the site.
So contact us and let us know what you think of the new look (positive or negative).
Also, please let us know if you notice a page that has quotes curling the wrong way, or a leading apostrophe (for a word like " 'twas") that is left straight and uneducated. We're aiming for 100% accuracy.
